“Here we believe in Fairies, Gumnut Babies and The Far Away Tree”
Hello, my name is Megan, welcome to Pearl Thread and Bone.
Growing up in Western Australia, I had the privilege of spending my childhood in a little house with a loving family, surrounded by nature.
One of my biggest blessings in life has been starting my education as a little one within the Stiner system. Most of what I do and create has been taught to me by the loving and talented teachers who understand the importance of nurturing a child’s imagination and creativity.
As I got older I soon realized just how much my thoughts and emotions were impacted by my surroundings.. I started drying flowers to string up in my windows, hanging my paintings and pining up my poems. All of this enabled my space to bring me peace, comfort and inspiration.
Little did I know.. at 7 years old.. it would lead me to starting my own business.
Pearl, Thread and Bone came to life in 2022 when I, with intention to make something special for baby soon to enter the world, picked up my crochet hook. Deciding on a little teddy bear, I blinked and suddenly I had made a whole collection of children’s toys.. I soon ventured into home decode, paper making, incense and weaving.
To my delight, others were interested in my work and after diligently attending a local market, I realized I was connecting with like-minded people.
This beautiful circle of artisans were just as passionate about sustainable living and creating with raw, natural, materials as I was!
With a little push from my family I signed up for more markets, set up a designated studio and created a website to connect with you all.
And here we are!
Looking to the future I see Pearl Thread and Bone continuing to create community, especially for women. I’m excited to continue offering more workshops and events that will bring women together where we can meet as our natural, raw self’s, hold space and support one another while creating beautiful creations for our homes, children and communities.
Every piece of my collection has been made with so much love and attention. I have taken my time with every peace and I hope that you love them as much as I do.
